About Carbo
Carbo Kwan is a sole practitioner and owner of her own criminal defence practice. Born in Truro, Nova Scotia, she earned a Bachelor's degree in Criminology from Saint Mary's University in Halifax and her law degree from the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom in 2012. She was called to the Bar in Ontario in May 2017 and to the Nova Scotia Bar in October 2017. Before opening her own office, she completed a placement with the Elgin-Oxford Legal Clinic in St. Thomas, Ontario, working on disability income assistance, landlord and tenant, and Criminal Injuries Compensation Board matters, an experience that shaped her interest in affordable, accessible legal services. She is a member of the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society and has served on the Nova Scotia Criminal Justice Association's Policy Review Committee and the board of the Coverdale Courtwork Society. She has volunteered with Nightline and Halifax Regional Police Victim Services.
