About Caitlin
Caitlin Dick's practice focuses on criminal defence trial work and appeals, along with some administrative law, and she has argued cases at all levels of court in Canada including jury trials at the Court of King's Bench and appeals before the Supreme Court of Canada. She has represented clients facing serious allegations including sexual offences, drug trafficking, fraud and murder, and her practice also includes policing-related litigation as Vice Chair of the Criminal Trial Lawyers' Association's Policing Committee. She has handled impaired driving matters under the SafeRoads Alberta legislation and achieved precedent-setting results at the judicial review level. Before law school she earned a Bachelor of Social Work degree and worked as a social worker, which she brings to a trauma-informed approach with Indigenous and racialized clients, LGBTQ+ community members, people in the sex trade, and people with complex mental health or addiction issues. Caitlin accepts some cases on Legal Aid and is a member of Legal Aid Alberta's Major Cases Panel.
