About Brian
Brian Lester is a third-generation Calgarian; his great-grandfather emigrated from Ireland in the 1880s and, like his grandfather, had a distinguished law career in the city, with his grandfather appointed Alberta's first justice of the Supreme Court of Canada in 1957. He graduated from Western Canada High School in 1977, completed undergraduate studies in political science at the University of Alberta and McGill University, and earned his law degree from the University of Alberta in 1986. He was called to the Alberta Bar in August 1987 and practised litigation at a medium-sized Calgary firm until 1991. His practice today covers residential and commercial conveyancing, subdivision and condominium development work, mortgage and lending advice, commercial transactions, real estate litigation, incorporations, and estate planning, including Wills and Powers of Attorney. He also teaches portions of the Alberta Bar Admission course in real estate.
