About Brian

Brian F.P. Murphy, K.C. is a partner at Forté Law Droit with extensive experience in personal injury, employment, and commercial litigation. He has represented clients at all levels of court in New Brunswick, Ontario, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador, and the Federal Court of Canada, including the Supreme Court of Canada. He holds a B.A. from Dalhousie University, an LL.B. from the University of New Brunswick, and an LL.M. from Osgoode Hall Law School, and was appointed King's Counsel in 2015. He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Law Society of Upper Canada, and the Law Society of New Brunswick, and is a former President of the Moncton Area Lawyers' Association. Before returning to full-time practice, he served as a Moncton City Councillor and Mayor, overseeing projects including a water treatment facility and the city's designation as Canada's first officially bilingual city, and later served as Member of Parliament for Moncton-Riverview-Dieppe from 2006 to 2011.
