About Bolloite Offor

Bolloite Offor works on real estate deals and mid-market lending files as an associate in the Hamilton office of Gowling WLG, and has been a member of the Ontario bar since 2023. Bolloite believes there's a soul to law and wants to build a practice that's client-focused and purpose-driven, one that starts with connecting with each person and understanding what they need before shaping a solution.

Bolloite's path into law ran through Nigeria and Manitoba. At Afe Babalola University, Bolloite was named Best Graduating Law Student in 2016, and a year later the Nigerian Law School awarded the Body of Benchers' Prize for Best Overall Student in Professional Responsibility. A Master of Laws at the University of Manitoba came next, backed by several graduate fellowships and scholarships, and during the thesis years Bolloite also worked in the Government of Manitoba's Department of Agriculture and Resource Development.

That 2021 LLM thesis takes a critical look at R v Barton, the 2019 Supreme Court of Canada case, and at how far the feminist organisations that intervened on the appeal shaped the outcome. Bolloite interviewed lawyers who'd acted for intervening organisations at the Supreme Court and used Indigenous feminism as the framework for the analysis.

Away from client files, Bolloite is active in Hamilton's Black community and hosts two podcasts. To Practice Law in Ontario offers insight and lived experience to foreign-trained lawyers in Canada, while Getting Keys and Closing Deals makes real estate and lending law easier to follow for a general audience, with 2025 episodes on topics like Hamilton's new vacant unit tax. Bolloite also serves on the Hamilton Law Association's New Lawyers' Subcommittee for 2025-2026.
