About Ben
Ben ElzingaCheng earned a doctorate in Medical Genetics from the University of British Columbia in 2005, after completing an undergraduate degree in Biology at Simon Fraser University. He went on to a Juris Doctor at the University of Toronto Law School in 2014, receiving the Leonard Feigman prize for top standing in Evidence, and was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2015. During law school he worked at Downtown Legal Services' Criminal Division. He articled at Cooper, Sandler, Shime & Bergman LLP before becoming an associate there in 2015. His practice centers on criminal law, including fraud, assault, domestic assault, weapons and driving offences, and he has acted as pro bono appellate counsel at the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.
