About Avin
Avin Persad-Ford practises both civil litigation and criminal defence, with a focus on advocacy before all levels of court in Ontario and several regulatory tribunals. His civil work spans employment disputes for employers and employees, real estate, professional regulation of teachers, lawyers and horse trainers, civil fraud and complex commercial matters, while his criminal defence experience includes charges ranging from fraud and impaired driving to sexual assault and drug offences. He also represents clients under the Provincial Offences Act and youth facing charges under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. Avin was called to the Ontario bar in 2023 and is currently pursuing the University of Waterloo's Master of Taxation program alongside CPA Canada's In-Depth Tax Program. He holds degrees in commerce, forensic accountancy and international tax law, and is a Certified Executor Advisor, Certified Fraud Examiner and Certified Forensic Investigator.
