About Anzhela

Anzhela Said is a Senior Immigration Lawyer in the Immigration Division at Osuji & Smith, and a member of the Law Society of Alberta. Anzhela earned an LL.B. from the Institute of Economics and Law in Ukraine in 1998, trained as a nurse before moving into law, and spent more than 14 years as in-house corporate counsel in the oil and gas industry in Ukraine and Kazakhstan. Anzhela was called to the Alberta Bar in September 2021 and is based in Dubai, returning to Canada regularly to work with clients on Canadian immigration matters. Anzhela has appeared before the Provincial Court and Court of King's Bench of Alberta on family law matters and before the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada on immigration matters, and has hosted community webinars for Ukrainian newcomers on the transition from CUAET temporary status to permanent residence. Anzhela speaks English, Ukrainian, Russian and Pashto.
