Whiteway Brown holds a law degree from the University of New Brunswick (1981), a B.B.A. from Mount Saint Vincent University (1978), and an LL.M. from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University (2009), and trained in collaborative law and insight mediation. Whiteway Brown served as President of the Canadian Bar Association's New Brunswick Branch (2015-2016) and sat on the Law Society of New Brunswick's Council from 2010 to 2016, including on its Real Property Practice Review Committee and Ethics Committee. Appointed Queen's Counsel in 2011 (now King's Counsel), Whiteway Brown has also served as a Small Claims Court adjudicator and on the board of the Valley Family Resource Centre in Woodstock.
