Construction LawAlexander Mosaico is the founder of Mosaico Law, representing companies and individuals in complex litigation including contract disputes, shareholder disputes (oppression and derivative actions), contentious matrimonial property matters, bankruptcy and insolvency, unjust enrichment, and fraudulent misrepresentation. He has also acted for contractors and owners, including one of Canada's largest crude oil producers, in construction litigation involving Alberta's builders' lien legislation, and has appeared before the Alberta Court of Appeal, the Court of King's Bench, the Provincial Court of Alberta, and professional college disciplinary committees. Alexander articled and practised with a mid-size Edmonton firm from 2008 to 2010 before joining a national law firm's commercial litigation and then insolvency groups, working under senior litigation and insolvency lawyers in Alberta, and started his own practice in 2014. He has represented major financial institutions, a large international air carrier, and defended a broker in an IIROC prosecution, among other matters. Alexander volunteers with the Edmonton Community Legal Centre, providing pro bono legal advice, and shares office space with lawyer Hu Eliot Young in the historic Hugh Duncan Residence in Old Strathcona.
