About Alexander David

Alexander David pairs a legal career with five years of police work, and puts both to use for injured people as a lawyer at Deutschmann de Koning Law in Kitchener. Serving as a constable with the Waterloo Regional Police meant seeing crash scenes, evidence gathering and public safety from the inside. Alexander brings that frontline background to the job, aiming for practical investigations and clear, precise communication with every client.

Waterloo Region is home. Alexander was born in Kitchener, grew up there and went to Rockway Mennonite Collegiate, then earned two undergraduate degrees, one in science and one in arts, at the University of Waterloo. Policing came before law. Legal studies followed at the University of Hertfordshire, and a Master of Laws from Osgoode Hall Law School completed the training. Alexander articled with Deutschmann de Koning and was called to the Ontario bar in 2023.

Alexander has already been counsel at an injury trial. In 2025, alongside Nick de Koning, Alexander represented a plaintiff who'd broken a hip after slipping on ice in the parking lot of a Waterloo plaza, and the Superior Court ruled for the plaintiff.

Away from the office, Alexander holds black belts in three karate styles, including a fifth degree in Goju Ryu, and has competed at the provincial, national and international levels. That record includes more than 14 national medals and three national championships. Teaching matters too: Alexander still runs first aid and lifeguarding courses.
