About Aleksander

Aleksander Tobolewski retired from the Barreau du Québec in 2025 after a career that included solo practice, a partnership at Magdelénat Tobolewski Gagné for 13 years, and a partnership at Gagné Tobolewski since 1989. He holds a Bachelor of Civil Law, a Master of Laws, and a Doctor of Civil Law from McGill University, as well as a Doctor of Laws and a Master of Laws from the University of Warsaw. Earlier in his career he was a senior researcher at McGill's Institute of Air and Space Law, legal counsel to Poland's civil aviation administration and to LOT Polish Airlines, and Poland's alternate representative to the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) from 2013 to 2014. Tobolewski is an accredited international and domestic arbitrator and an accredited family mediator with the Barreau du Québec, and has authored numerous publications on international air law and liability limitations.
