About Alan
Alan Richter is the managing partner of Richter Grewal LLP and has practiced exclusively in criminal law since he was called to the bar in February 1999. He started his career prosecuting for the Perth Crown Attorney's Office, including a double homicide case, before moving into criminal defence work at a firm in Oshawa. He opened his own practice in June 2012. Over his career he has tried hundreds of cases at every level of court in Ontario, defending clients facing murder, arson, assault, weapons, and large-scale drug charges, and he regularly argues Charter applications at trial. He also focuses on developing effective sentencing strategies aimed at minimizing a client's time in custody.
