Aidan Seymour-Butler practises criminal law alongside Anthony Moustacalis and has appeared before courts at multiple levels, including the Court of Appeal for Ontario. Before his call to the bar, he articled with an established criminal lawyer, volunteered with Pro Bono Ontario, and worked as a researcher on international commercial and investment arbitration at a public international law boutique. Originally from Botswana, he holds an LLB from the University of Sussex and an LLM from Trinity College Dublin, where his dissertation on corporate personhood and criminal liability for aiding and abetting international crimes earned first-class honours. In 2019 his article on immigration detention centres in the UK won the Denning Law Journal's postgraduate writing competition. He sits on the executive boards of both the CBA and OBA Criminal Justice Sections.
