About Aasheesh
Aasheesh Puri, also known as AK Puri, is a criminal defence lawyer at Acumen Law Corporation who joined the firm in 2022 and is licensed to practise in both British Columbia and Yukon. He focuses on criminal defence, with particular expertise in police seizures and forfeiture of property, including Section 490 applications and civil forfeitures. He articled at a boutique criminal defence firm in Northern Manitoba in 2021, travelling extensively to circuit court locations across the province to represent Indigenous clients. He says he works to protect clients' interests from the earliest stages of an investigation and believes everyone deserves a strong defence. He is fluent in Punjabi and Hindi in addition to English.
