About Centra Lawyers LLP

Centra Lawyers LLP is a full-service firm based in Maple Ridge, British Columbia, serving Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows, and the wider Lower Mainland. The firm formed when a group of lawyers, including Eric Mollema, Adrienne Dale, Sherri Robinson, Ryan Dueckman, and Marcela Shockey, relocated from Pitt Meadows and incorporated the practice of R.D. Shantz and Associates. That earlier firm's founder, Robert D. Shantz, had practised law in Maple Ridge for more than 40 years and was named the community's 2014 Citizen of the Year. Today Centra Lawyers has eight lawyers, and each one concentrates on a specific area rather than practising broadly across every field, covering business and corporate law, real estate, family law, wills and estates, civil litigation, employment law, immigration law, construction law, and strata law.

A couple of the firm's founding partners started their legal careers outside Canada. Eric Mollema earned law degrees at the University of Pretoria in South Africa, was admitted to the High Court of South Africa in 1996, and later qualified to the British Columbia bar in 2013, adding a registered Canadian trademark agent credential along the way. Adrienne Dale studied at Rhodes University and the University of Cape Town, was admitted in South Africa in 1995, and was called to the BC bar in 2012. Newer additions to the team bring a wider range of backgrounds, including a lawyer who worked as a software designer before law school and one who studied at Oxford and Queen Mary University of London.
