About GDH Family Law

GDH Family Law LLP is a small family law firm based in Concord, a business district in Vaughan just north of Toronto. Co-founding partners Lucy D'Ercole and Shazia Hafiji have each practiced exclusively in family law since being called to the bar. D'Ercole earned a BA (Hons) from York University and a JD from the University of Windsor's Faculty of Law. Hafiji also holds a BA (Hons) from York University, along with a JD from the University of Ottawa. D'Ercole and Hafiji each articled and worked as an associate at a law firm in the GTA before co-founding GDH.

The firm handles the full range of family law matters, including separation, divorce, parenting time and decision-making, grandparent access, child and spousal support, property division, equalization, and the matrimonial home, through negotiation, mediation, arbitration, or litigation. Clients can choose full-service representation for their whole case or unbundled, stand-alone help, such as drafting a single agreement or attending one mediation session, so the level of support scales to what a client actually needs. GDH Family Law works from a single office in Vaughan's Concord district and serves clients across the wider GTA, including Markham, Richmond Hill, Mississauga, and Toronto.

The neighbourhood

GDH Family Law's office sits in the Deloitte Building at 400 Applewood Crescent, in Concord, the district that grew into Vaughan's industrial and commercial base after Highway 400 opened through the area in the 1950s. Concord today is home to the Canadian offices of companies like Toys R Us Canada and Tootsie Roll, alongside modern office buildings like the one GDH occupies. It's more business park than main street storefront, which fits a firm whose clients come from across the GTA rather than from the block outside; the office is just off Highway 400, with parking on site and transit stops nearby.
