About Bortolussi Family Law

Bortolussi Family Law is a firm in Vaughan, Ontario that practises family law exclusively. It was established in 1984 by Lorraine A. Bortolussi and has grown to seven lawyers who together bring more than 145 years of combined family law experience. The team works across separation and divorce, custody and parenting time, support, mediation, collaborative practice, and arbitration, and the office at 3300 Highway 7 West serves clients throughout the Greater Toronto Area, including Mississauga, Brampton, Markham, and Etobicoke.

Bortolussi holds a law degree from the University of Ottawa and an LL.M. in Alternative Dispute Resolution from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University, and is accredited as a family mediator through the Ontario Association for Family Mediation. Beyond the firm, Bortolussi has served as a Deputy Judge of the Small Claims Court for twenty years, developed the Family Law course for York University's Certificate in Family Mediation program in 2018/2019 and was a part-time instructor in the course, and is a past President of the Ontario Association for Family Mediation. The firm also takes on more complex separations, including cases where a family business has to be valued and divided or where an estate freeze or family trust needs to be unwound, work that draws on this dispute resolution background alongside litigation.
