About Fahey Crate Law Professional Corporation

Fahey Crate Law Professional Corporation practises out of Sutton West, in the Town of Georgina. Patrick Fahey moved to the Sutton area in 1969 and bought the law practice that continues today as Fahey Crate Law. Fahey earned a law degree from the University of Ottawa in 1961, graduating with distinction and the gold medal, and was called to the bar in 1963. Fahey later served 32 years as a Small Claims Court judge after being appointed in 1977.

Carolyn Crate joined the practice in 2004, and Jim Crate followed in 2007. The pair purchased the firm from Fahey in January 2009, and Fahey stayed on as general counsel. In October 2015 the firm took over the Robert E. Pollock Law Office, adding clients from a practice Pollock had run for 35 years. The firm describes itself today as serving third and fourth generation clients in Georgina.

Before law, Carolyn Crate spent years as an insurance broker and in banking, and Jim Crate served with the Ontario Provincial Police from 1991 to 2007, working in criminal law and major case management. The firm's lawyers handle real estate, including farm and vacant land transactions, wills and estate planning, corporate and commercial law, criminal defence, and civil litigation.
