Vanguard Law is a small Ontario law firm built around employment law and civil commercial litigation. The firm is based in Toronto, with additional offices in Oakville and St. Catharines that extend its reach into the Halton and Niagara regions. It was founded by Andre Issa, who previously led the employment law department at a full-service firm before starting an independent practice. On the employment side, Vanguard Law represents employees in wrongful dismissal, severance package reviews, constructive dismissal, human rights complaints, and long-term disability denials, and represents employers in dismissal defence, workplace investigations, and employment contracts. The practice also takes on civil and commercial litigation, including business owner disputes, breach of contract claims, corporate debt recovery, and director and officer liability matters.

The firm's name is meant to describe how it works: Issa has said Vanguard refers to 'the group that goes first, taking the initial risk and protecting those who follow,' and the practice leans on stepping into disputes early rather than waiting for them to escalate. Issa earned First-Class Honours from the University of Liverpool, where research on gig economy work was shortlisted for the Liverpool Law Review. For employers who want ongoing support rather than one-off files, the firm runs Workplace Counsel+, a monthly subscription program covering contracts, policies, and day-to-day employment questions. Consultations are offered by video across Ontario in addition to the three physical offices.
