About Trevor Smith Family Law

Trevor Smith Family Law is a small family law firm in downtown Toronto, working out of the 16th floor of 401 Bay Street. The practice covers separation and divorce, property division, child and spousal support, and custody and access, for clients in Ontario and, in some cases, British Columbia.

Founder Trevor Smith graduated from the University of Victoria in British Columbia and has practiced family law since 2008, articling and working at large firms in downtown Vancouver. In 2011, Smith joined a Vancouver family law firm and, after two years there, opened its Toronto office. Smith Family Law followed in 2016, founded to give clients more focused attention.

Smith is licensed in both Ontario and British Columbia, though the firm currently takes on new clients only in Ontario or in cases with an Ontario connection. It offers free consultations and a flat $900 rate for uncontested divorces, on top of court fees and taxes. Smith works alongside legal assistant Philip Mac-Deh, who joined the firm in August 2024 after handling real estate and immigration files at other law offices.
