About Susan Harris Family Law

Susan Harris Family Law is a solo family law practice in midtown Toronto, opened by Susan Harris in February 2012. Before law school, Harris earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Cultural Anthropology, both from the University of Toronto, then completed an LL.B. at Dalhousie University in 2002 after several years working in business, including time at Davies, Ward and Beck, a Toronto corporate law firm.

Harris articled at Ricketts Harris LLP and spent six years as an associate at Bastedo Stewart Smith, then two years at another small family law firm, before starting the current practice. The firm handles separation, divorce, marriage contracts, and cohabitation agreements, with an emphasis on resolving disputes outside court through mediation and collaborative family law before turning to litigation when it's necessary. Harris has appeared at every level of court in Ontario, from the Provincial Court up to the Court of Appeal, and holds memberships with the Family Law Association, the Ontario Bar Association, and Collaborative Practice Toronto.
