Free consultationStitz Litigation is a Toronto employment and labour law firm founded by Michael Stitz, who holds a B.A. (Hons) and a J.D. and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2012. Before opening the firm, Stitz worked at a Bay Street employment law firm in Toronto, representing both employees and employers. That dual perspective carries through to the practice today: the firm takes on wrongful and constructive dismissal files, severance negotiations, workplace harassment complaints, and human rights and discrimination claims, while also advising employers on hiring, dismissal, contract drafting, and HR compliance.
The firm has developed a niche in disputes over alleged unlawful competition by former employees, including breach of fiduciary duty, breach of confidence, and the enforcement of non-competition and non-solicitation clauses. Stitz has appeared as counsel before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Court of Appeal, the Ontario Ministry of Labour, the Ontario Labour Relations Board, the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal, and the Public Service Grievance Board of Ontario. The office is in First Canadian Place at 100 King Street West in Toronto's Financial District.

Free consultationStitz Litigation's office sits inside First Canadian Place at 100 King Street West, a 72 storey office tower that was Canada's tallest building from its completion in 1975 until 2025 and now serves as the global executive office of the Bank of Montreal. The tower anchors the western end of Toronto's Financial District, a few blocks of banking, insurance, and corporate head offices along King and Bay Streets.
That setting fits a firm that represents both employees and employers across sectors including financial services, manufacturing, retail, telecommunications, and information technology. Clients bringing a workplace dispute, whether they work in one of the towers nearby or elsewhere in the province, can meet with the firm in the same office block where a lot of that employment happens.
