About Yinka Law

Yinka Law is a small Toronto firm handling employment and labour law, human rights matters, insurance defence, civil litigation, and administrative and regulatory law. The firm works out of an office in the WaterPark Place complex at 20 Bay Street, in Toronto's South Core financial district. Founder Oyeyinka Oyelowo earned a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from Carleton University in 2013 and later completed a Juris Doctor and a Certificate of Business Fundamentals at Osgoode Hall Law School. Before starting the firm, Oyelowo worked with the Ontario Provincial Police Association, Tribunals Ontario, Mathews, Dinsdale & Clark LLP, Franklin Law, Manulife, Pro Bono Students Canada, and the Ontario Justice Education Network.

The firm's second lawyer, Cesar Ulises Avila Aguirre, trained in Mexico, holding a law degree from Universidad del Valle de Mexico and a master's degree in private law from Universidad Anahuac Mexico Norte. Avila Aguirre owned a law practice in Mexico from 2015 to 2019 and now focuses on litigation and consulting work spanning family, civil, commercial, and human rights matters. Yinka Law's own materials describe the firm's focus as advancing equality rights, and its founder has been publicly recognized for advocacy work addressing gender based violence and workplace harassment.
