What is the deadline to appeal an Ontario property assessment?

A bulletin on Steinberg Law's site notes that the deadline to appeal or request a reconsideration of a property assessment is generally March 31 of the tax year, and that an outstanding appeal from a prior year can carry forward as a deemed appeal for the current year without a new filing.

I received a Supplementary or Omitted Assessment Notice from MPAC. What does that mean?

According to a bulletin on Steinberg Law's site, MPAC issues these notices to retroactively add or increase an assessment for a completed improvement, a change of use, or a rezoning, sometimes going back a year or two. The bulletin explains that the additional assessment is only MPAC's opinion and can be challenged through the appeal process, though the statutory window to appeal is tight.
