About Solnik and Solnik Professional Corporation

Solnik and Solnik Professional Corporation traces back to June 1963, when Sidney Solnik opened a practice above a Royal Bank branch at Dundas and Pacific in Toronto's Junction neighbourhood, then called the Law Office of Sidney Solnik. In the late 1960s the firm moved a few doors down to 2991 Dundas Street West, where it still operates today. Sidney Solnik had trained as a pharmacist before turning to law, earning a degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1961. Sidney Solnik's son Manny Solnik joined as a partner in 1993, after a law degree from the University of Alberta and a call to the Ontario Bar, and the firm became Solnik and Solnik Professional Corporation.

The firm acts for families and for small, medium, and large companies, with a practice covering personal injury, medical malpractice, wrongful dismissal and employment law, real estate, wills, estates and powers of attorney, and corporate, commercial and civil litigation matters, including debt collection. Its client base grew from the Junction out across Toronto's west end and now reaches clients throughout the Greater Toronto Area. Sidney Solnik's wife Lola, trained as a legal secretary in England, worked alongside Sidney Solnik as a legal assistant for decades, and three of Sidney Solnik's four children became lawyers, with all three practising at the firm at one point.
