The neighbourhood
AMH Law's office is at 4030 Sheppard Avenue East in Scarborough. Agincourt, a neighbourhood and former village in northeast Toronto, runs along Sheppard Avenue between Kennedy and Markham Roads, and it belonged to Scarborough until the megacity was created in 1998. Its name goes back to June 1858, when permission was granted for a post office in John Hill's general store at what's now Brimley Road and Sheppard. Rail has long been part of the area, too: two stations went up in the second half of the 19th century, and one still serves commuters as Agincourt GO on the Stouffville line. From the 1980s, newcomers from Hong Kong and Taiwan settled along Sheppard near Midland Avenue, and Agincourt grew into a busy suburban Chinatown.
