Rudder Law Professional Corporation is a personal injury firm based in downtown Toronto, founded by Andrew Leroy Rudder in January 2021. The practice concentrates on catastrophic impairment law, covering motor vehicle collisions, slip and falls, pedestrian and cyclist accidents, and assault injuries, along with accident benefits claims. Rudder holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from York University, earned with distinction on the Cum Laude List, and a law degree from the University of Windsor. Rudder also wrote Catastrophic Impairment Law in Canada, published by LexisNexis.
The firm was started, in Rudder's own words, to improve diversity, inclusion, belonging and equity in the legal profession as well as to build a practice around a personal set of values. Built in 1914 to a Beaux Arts design by the architecture firm Darling and Pearson, the building later became the base of the One King West hotel and residence tower, and it now holds office space a short distance from the downtown courts, including the Superior Court of Ontario, where Rudder appears as counsel.
