About Schiffmann Law

Schiffmann Law is a small personal injury and disability law firm based in Toronto, in practice for over 17 years. Founder Christopher Schiffmann was called to the Ontario bar in 2002 after earning a Bachelor of Laws from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2000, a Master of Laws from the same school in 2008, and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from York University in 1997. Early in the career that led to the firm, Schiffmann worked as counsel for insurance companies, an experience that shaped a working understanding of how insurers evaluate injury claims. Before law school, Schiffmann served as an infantry officer and platoon commander in the Canadian Armed Forces, receiving a Queen's Commission in September 1997.

The practice is devoted exclusively to personal injury and disability claims: motor vehicle, motorcycle, bicycle, truck, and pedestrian accidents, traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries, slip and fall cases, denied long term disability and critical illness claims, nursing home and elder abuse matters, and wrongful death. Schiffmann Law works on a contingency fee basis, so clients don't pay unless a claim recovers money, and offers a free initial consultation. Christopher Schiffmann has been recognized in Best Lawyers for personal injury litigation in Toronto since 2022 and belongs to the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association, the Ontario Bar Association's Insurance Law Section, and the Advocates Society.
