About Reiter-Nemetz

Reiter-Nemetz is a small law firm on Sheppard Avenue West in North York, near the Yonge and Sheppard corridor of Toronto. Two lawyers currently practise there: Marilyn Reiter-Nemetz and Hyla Reiter. The firm's listed practice areas cover residential and commercial real estate, commercial law, wills and estates, intellectual property, and art law.

The practice traces back to Edward Reiter. Edward Reiter's relative, Marilyn Reiter-Nemetz, joined the firm in 1989 after articling at Torys and practising real estate law with Del Zotto Zorzi and with Lang Michener. Marilyn Reiter-Nemetz was called to the Ontario bar in 1984, earned a BA and a JD from the University of Toronto, and was recognized on the Dean's list there. The real estate practice, spanning residential and commercial acquisition, financing, leasing and disposition, along with wills, trusts and powers of attorney, has been a focus since. Hyla Reiter joined the firm in 1996, the same year Hyla Reiter was called to the Ontario bar, and holds a BSc in Computer Science along with a JD, both from the University of Toronto. Hyla Reiter's practice centres on wills and estates and on commercial leasing, including preparing estate documents and administering estates.
