About Opalinski Law

Opalinski Law is a personal injury law firm operating since 2010, with offices in Toronto and Mississauga serving clients across the Greater Toronto Area. The firm is named for and led by Barbara K. Opalinski, who practices from the Toronto office and handles claims involving motor vehicle accidents, accident benefits, slip and fall injuries, disability insurance claims, fatal accidents, and brain and spinal cord injuries. Opalinski works with a small support team that includes an executive director, a law clerk, and legal assistants. The firm offers its services in English and Polish and describes itself as an active part of the Polish community across the GTA.

Opalinski was one of two lawyers who represented the respondent in MacKay v. Starbucks Corporation, a 2017 decision of the Court of Appeal for Ontario that found Starbucks could be an occupier of a stretch of municipal sidewalk outside its patio under the Occupiers' Liability Act. Opalinski also has a connection to the University of Windsor's Faculty of Law: its alumni magazine featured Opalinski's work supporting access to justice through mediation services, with a focus on elder law.
