Neubauer Law is a small litigation firm based in downtown Toronto, working out of Front Street Chambers at 65 Front St. East. Eric S. Neubauer leads the practice, supported by an associate, a paralegal, and an administrative assistant. Before moving to the defence side, Neubauer worked as Crown counsel for the Public Prosecution Service of Canada, experience that shapes how the firm reads a police or Crown file. The practice is built around three connected areas: criminal defence, constitutional litigation, and the defence of regulatory and professional discipline matters.
Neubauer has appeared at every level of court, including the Supreme Court of Canada, and has argued cases in the Ontario Court of Justice, the Superior Court of Justice, and the Ontario Court of Appeal. The firm takes on complex criminal trials, including homicide and serious assault charges, along with cases built on drug, firearm, and fraud warrants. The practice also includes constitutional litigation across Ontario courts. Neubauer also teaches trial advocacy and negotiation as a sessional instructor at Osgoode Hall Law School and has testified before the Senate Committee on Legal Affairs on behalf of the Canadian Council of Criminal Defence Lawyers.
By appointmentNeubauer Law shares its Suite 300 address at 65 Front St. East, known as Front Street Chambers, with other independent legal practices in the same building. That stretch of Front Street runs through the St. Lawrence Market district, an area of nineteenth century low rise commercial buildings that was laid out around 1800 as the original commercial heart of the Town of York. It is a different kind of downtown footing than a tower full of firm logos, set among heritage storefronts a short walk from the market rather than the financial district skyline.
