About Jones Pearce LLP

Jones Pearce LLP is a small Toronto law firm that represents trade unions, professional associations, and the workers they belong to. Nini Jones and Lauren Pearce founded the firm together, after each built a labour law practice at a larger Toronto litigation firm. The firm's work centers on collective bargaining, grievance and interest arbitration, human rights complaints, and workplace discipline, all from the union side. It also takes on pro bono matters for individual non-unionized workers, small unions, and non-profit and charitable organizations.

Jones has been named to Best Lawyers in Canada for labour and employment law every year since 2013 and received the Lexpert Zenith Award for Mid-Career Excellence in 2018, with particular experience advising police associations across Ontario on labour relations. Pearce's academic writing has been cited by both the Supreme Court of Canada and the Court of Appeal for Ontario, and Pearce teaches the Canadian Labour Arbitration Moot at the University of Toronto's law school. The office is in the Excelsior Life Building at 36 Toronto Street, a heritage designated building from 1914 in Toronto's St. Lawrence Neighbourhood Heritage Conservation District.
