Swadron Associates is a small Toronto law firm with four lawyers, built around mental health and capacity law, estate and guardianship litigation, and Charter and human rights cases. Barry Swadron, Q.C., founded the firm. Marshall A. Swadron, the founder's child, later joined what was then a general practice and steered it toward this narrower focus. Marshall A. Swadron earned an LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1987 and was called to the Ontario bar in 1989.
The firm's lawyers appear before every level of Ontario's courts, the Federal Court, and the Supreme Court of Canada, and they regularly argue before the Consent and Capacity Board and the Ontario Review Board on behalf of people facing involuntary treatment or detention.
