About MRC Law

MRC Law is a small firm based in Toronto's Financial District, founded by Mindy Caterina. Before starting the firm, Caterina worked as a federal prosecutor, litigating tax matters for the federal Department of Justice and prosecuting federal criminal, quasi-criminal, and regulatory charges. Caterina also spent time at two small Toronto defence firms before opening MRC Law. The firm's core practice is criminal and administrative appeals: representing clients before the Court of Appeal for Ontario and the Supreme Court of Canada, handling judicial reviews of disciplinary decisions that affect regulated professionals, and assisting clients under investigation for health insurance fraud.

MRC Law also has a business and civil law division, which handles debt recovery for businesses in addition to general civil litigation. The debt recovery service starts with a no cost demand letter, moves to a commission based collection stage if that doesn't resolve the matter, and can proceed to litigation if needed. Caterina practices in English, Spanish, and conversational French, and the firm offers a free initial consultation by email or through its online booking system.
