The firm's roots go back to January 2014, when Howard Levitt, previously counsel at Lang Michener, and Brian Grosman, formerly of Grosman Grosman & Gale LLP, combined practices as Levitt & Grosman LLP after facing each other in court for more than three decades. Levitt had earlier practiced under the firm and its predecessors from 1988 to 2000. In 2021 three more lawyers joined the partnership and the firm became Levitt Sheikh Chaudhri Swann LLP. It has since gone back to operating as Levitt LLP.

The firm represents both employers and employees in wrongful and unjust dismissal, workplace harassment, and human rights and discrimination matters, appearing before courts, labour boards, and tribunals across Canada.
