About KZP Law

KZP Law is a solo Toronto practice run by Karen Zvulony, who is the firm's founder and principal lawyer. Zvulony earned a BA from York University in 1999 and an LLB from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2003, and was called to the Ontario bar in 2004. The practice concentrates on three areas: employment law for both employees and employers, assessment law (disputing or defending a lawyer's bill under Ontario's Solicitors Act), and civil litigation. Zvulony has appeared before the Superior Court of Justice, the Court of Appeal of Ontario, the Ontario Labour Relations Board, and various administrative tribunals.

On the employment side, the firm reviews severance and termination packages, handles wrongful and constructive dismissal claims, and drafts or defends employment agreements, non-solicitation clauses, and workplace policies for either side of the employment relationship. Assessment law is a narrower niche: representing clients who believe a lawyer overbilled them, and, on the other side, lawyers defending their own accounts, through the hearing process set out in the Solicitors Act. Civil litigation work rounds out the practice and covers contract disputes, debt collection, injunctions, and business torts such as breach of fiduciary duty.
