Kenneth Peacocke Professional Corporation, which practises as Peacocke Appellate Law Firm, is a Toronto firm built around a single focus: appeals in the Ontario courts. Founder Kenneth J. Peacocke was admitted to the Ontario bar in March 1990 and started the firm the same year, after an Honours B.A. from Carleton University in 1983 and a law degree from the University of Western Ontario Law School in 1988. The practice has stayed narrow rather than growing into a general litigation shop, and that focus is the point: it exists to handle the written and oral advocacy work an appeal requires.

Rather than taking on a case from the start, the firm most often works alongside the lawyer already handling the file, giving opinions on whether an appeal has merit, drafting the notice of appeal and the factum, assembling appeal books and books of authorities, and perfecting the appeal for hearing. It also argues motions and appeals directly and can act for either an appellant or a respondent. The work spans civil litigation, family law, wills and estates, commercial and insurance matters, personal injury, and administrative and regulatory appeals, before the Court of Appeal for Ontario, the Divisional Court, the Superior Court of Justice, the Federal Court, and leave applications to the Supreme Court of Canada. From 1992 to 2005 Peacocke also taught Legal Research and Professional Responsibility on the Bar Admission Course and has written papers on appellate advocacy for legal conferences.
