Holmberg Watson is a business and estate law firm with an office on Yorkville Avenue in downtown Toronto. Mihkel Holmberg and Kate Watson founded the firm after working as partners at Bay Street law firms and as in house counsel at public corporations, an experience that showed them the gap between conventional legal advice and the practical realities of running a business. The firm advises clients in industries such as information technology, marketing, financial services, and manufacturing, and describes its work in three stages: starting a business, growing it, and eventually selling it.

Mihkel Holmberg has acted as lead counsel on hundreds of business acquisitions, ranging from owner managed companies to multinational corporations valued at more than $500 million, and was previously general counsel to a publicly listed private equity company with over $700 million in invested capital. Until 2005, Mihkel Holmberg was a partner at a national Canadian law firm with more than 200 lawyers. Kate Watson was previously assistant general counsel to a publicly listed private equity company, working on mergers, acquisitions, and financing, and before that an associate at a full service Canadian law firm. A third lawyer at the firm, Adam Holmberg, holds a law degree from Bond University, an LLM from Osgoode Hall Law School, and finance degrees from McGill University and the University of New South Wales.
