About Goldenberg & Co.

Goldenberg & Co. is a small entertainment and corporate law firm based in Toronto, at 468 Queen Street East. It's a five lawyer practice built around film, television, music and digital media work, advising producers, distributors, writers, directors, actors and other creative professionals. The firm's work spans production financing, talent and crew agreements, distribution and licensing deals, and intellectual property matters such as copyright and trademarks. It also handles the general corporate and commercial work that creative businesses need, including incorporations and share and asset purchase agreements.

The firm traces back to 2017, when it launched in Toronto as Goldenberg Nahmias LLP, co-founded by Daniel Goldenberg and Jordan Nahmias out of an office on Richmond Street West. It later moved to its current Queen Street East address and was renamed Goldenberg & Co. P.C., with Goldenberg continuing as principal. Before founding the firm, Goldenberg worked at a Bay Street law firm, spent two years in the asset and secured finance group at Clifford Chance LLP's London office, and was a senior associate at a small Toronto entertainment law firm.

The rest of the team brings a mix of backgrounds to that focus, including a corporate securities and M&A practice at a New York firm, government policy work on copyright and broadcasting, and hands on production and casting experience before law school.
