Founder Alexander (Alex) Fomcenco built an international academic and legal career before starting the practice, including nearly eight years researching, teaching, and publishing on corporate and business law in Europe, and completing a Canadian Common Law LL.M. at Osgoode Hall Law School. Fomcenco holds a Ph.D. from Aalborg University in Denmark along with an LL.M. and LL.B. from the University of Copenhagen, and is licensed in Ontario as a lawyer, notary public, and commissioner of oaths.

The firm's core work is immigration and refugee law: visitor visas, work and study permits, family and spousal sponsorship, permanent residency, and business immigration, plus crimmigration matters like detention reviews and admissibility hearings. It also handles criminal defence, powers of attorney, and notarization, and Fomcenco continues to advise on business and corporate law.
