Everlex Legal Professional Corporation is a solo law practice in downtown Toronto led by Dr. Michael F. Motala, who was called to the bar in Ontario in 2020 and is also licensed as a notary public in the province. Motala holds an honours degree from Trinity College at the University of Toronto, a master's from the London School of Economics, a further master's from Columbia University, a J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School, and a Ph.D. from the University of Toronto completed in 2023. Before opening the firm, Motala held roles at the Ontario Securities Commission, the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada, BMO Financial Group, and the Canadian High Commission in the United Kingdom.

The firm's practice covers civil litigation, landlord and tenant law, employment and human rights disputes, business and corporate law, tax planning and tax disputes, securities regulatory defence, and criminal defence, plus notary services. It doesn't take on family law or immigration matters. Motala has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Landlord and Tenant Board, and also teaches tax law as an instructor at Osgoode Hall Law School.
