The neighbourhood
The firm's office sits on Adelaide Street West, in the part of downtown Toronto known as the Fashion District. The area grew up in the early 1900s as the city's Garment District, when architects such as Benjamin Brown designed the Art Deco factory buildings that still frame the street near Adelaide and Spadina. The old textile warehouses have since filled in with offices and mixed-use buildings, but the district still carries the name of the tailors and manufacturers who once worked there.
