The office sits at the southwest corner of Kingston Road and Scarborough Road, in a building marked by a painted bear and waterfall on the side wall, which the firm uses as a landmark for visitors finding the office on foot. Kingston Road itself predates the neighbourhood around it: it was built in 1800 to connect York to the Bay of Quinte and only drew real settlement once it was planked in 1833.
Fred Dashwood opened the practice here in 1926, right as the area's character was shifting. The nearby Scarboro Beach Amusement Park, a summer draw since 1907, was sold to developers around 1925 and redeveloped into the residential streets that surround the firm today. A century later, Dashwood & Dashwood is still doing real estate and estate work from the same stretch of Kingston Road.
