About Darryl Singer

Darryl Singer heads the Commercial and Civil Litigation Practice Group at Diamond & Diamond Lawyers, working from the firm's Toronto office on Consumers Road in North York. Singer graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1991 and was called to the bar in Ontario in 1993. The litigation practice covers personal injury and accident benefits claims, along with commercial and contract disputes, insolvency and restructuring, debt collection and enforcement, franchise disputes, employment law and wrongful dismissal, and professional negligence matters. Singer has argued numerous complex commercial injunction applications before Ontario's Superior Court, Divisional Court, and Court of Appeal.

Before joining Diamond & Diamond, Singer built and ran an earlier litigation firm, SINGER Barristers Professional Corporation, concentrating on personal injury and motor vehicle accident claims. Singer is also the author of two textbooks on Ontario personal injury and accident benefits law, published by Emond Publishing, and teaches Professional Responsibility and Personal Injury Practice at Osgoode Hall Law School. The practice serves clients in English and twelve other languages, including Mandarin, Cantonese, Punjabi, Hindi, Urdu, and Spanish, through its support staff.

The neighbourhood

The Toronto office is in the Consumers Road Business Park in North York, a nearly 100 hectare employment district bounded by Highway 401, Highway 404, Victoria Park Avenue, and Sheppard Avenue East. The area is one of Toronto's most concentrated clusters of office jobs, home to more than 18,000 workers, and the city has been studying how to add housing and public space to what has traditionally been an office focused district. It isn't a courthouse row or a heritage storefront strip. It's a mid rise business park built around highway access, which fits a litigation practice whose clients come from across the Toronto area and beyond.
