About Cohen & Chasse

Cohen & Chasse is a family owned general practice firm on Lake Shore Boulevard West in Toronto's Etobicoke district. Gerald Cohen founded the practice in 1956, and William Chasse later joined as a partner, giving the firm its current name. Lawrence M. Cohen, a member of the Cohen family, joined the practice in 1984, and Alison C. Cohen, also a member of the Cohen family, joined in 2014. Three generations of the Cohen family have now run the firm, which has served the Etobicoke and Toronto community for more than 60 years.

Lawrence M. Cohen (B.A., L.L.B.) and Alison C. Cohen (B.A., J.D.) run the practice today. The firm handles real estate transactions, including residential and commercial purchases and sales, condominium deals, and cottage properties, along with wills, powers of attorney, and estate administration. It also offers corporate and business law services such as incorporations, shareholder agreements, and minute book updates, plus notary public services covering affidavits, oaths, and certified copies of documents.

When an April 7, 2020 emergency order under Ontario's Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act permitted wills and powers of attorney to be witnessed over audio-visual technology, Cohen & Chasse started offering virtual witnessing and drive up signing so clients who'd rather not come into the office still have a way to get these documents done.
