About Coach House Law

Coach House Law is a small law firm in downtown Toronto, with an office on Bloor Street East a short walk from the Bloor-Yonge intersection. Six lawyers make up the team, working across business law, real estate, health law, family law, wills and estates, and litigation. On the business side, the firm handles matters ranging from start-ups to established private companies, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, intellectual property, employment, and financing. Its real estate practice covers residential and commercial transactions, leasing, and property disputes, and its health law group advises on regulatory matters, advertising and promotion, commercialization, corporate law, and IP matters for healthcare ventures.

Managing lawyer David Woodside earned a B.A.H. from Queen's University in 2003, studied at Sciences Po in Paris, and completed a J.D. at the University of Calgary in 2009, then was called to the bar in Alberta in 2010 and in Ontario in 2011. Before joining Coach House Law, Woodside spent close to a decade working with major law firms and in multinational consulting. The firm also runs a Divorce Coach program, in which its family lawyers work with clients going through separation in a confidential coaching format, helping them understand their options and plan next steps alongside or ahead of formal representation.
