About CDG Law (Conway Davis Gryski)

CDG Law, previously known as Conway Davis Gryski, was a small Toronto firm whose lawyers practised in property assessment and municipal taxation, acting for assessing authorities and municipalities across Ontario. Its lawyers trace their practice back to Chernos, Conway, active from the 1980s into the 1990s, before Chester P. Gryski and several colleagues formed Conway Davis Gryski in 1996; the firm later took the name CDG Law. Its office was at 181 University Avenue in Toronto. A February 2025 notice on the firm's website said the site was closed, with inquiries directed by email to Donald G. Mitchell.

Karey A. Lunau, called to the Ontario bar in 1989, holds a law degree from the University of Toronto and was Managing Partner. Lunau is a Law Society of Ontario Certified Specialist in Municipal Law, Local Government, and appeared before all levels of court and the Assessment Review Board on assessment and taxation matters. Donald G. Mitchell, called to the bar in 1991, and Francis X. Shea, called to the bar in 1988, both hold law degrees from Queen's University and joined Chernos, Conway before it became Conway Davis Gryski in 1996. Melissa E. VanBerkum, called to the bar in 1992, is also a Certified Specialist in Municipal Law, Local Government, and spent 11 years as internal counsel for two GTA municipalities, the Town of Markham and the City of Mississauga, before joining the firm.
