Motor vehicle accidents
Beyond Law litigates claims from car, motorcycle, truck and bus crashes, and from cycling collisions with vehicles. J.C. et al. v. Jugenburg et al., 2026 ONSC 3061
In a class action brought for roughly 7,000 patients of the Toronto Cosmetic Surgery Institute, Schabas J. held that the clinic's owners were negligent, breached their fiduciary duty and committed the tort of intrusion upon seclusion by running a surveillance video system without patients' knowledge or consent, rejected the breach of trust claim, and awarded aggregate and punitive damages. Kate Mazzucco and Josh Nisker were among counsel for the plaintiffs.
