About Aris Gyamfi Law

Aris Gyamfi Law is a solo law practice in Toronto that opened in spring 2023. Working from an office suite on Bay Street, the firm handles class actions and commercial litigation alongside wills and estates work, and has also built out a dedicated animal law practice covering pet custody disputes, veterinary malpractice claims, municipal dangerous dog designations, and estate planning for pets and farm animals.

Founder Aris Gyamfi spent over a decade litigating class actions and complex commercial disputes before opening the practice, appearing before every level of court in Ontario as well as the Federal Court, the Federal Court of Appeal, and the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario. That record includes representing a class of international students in Ramdath v. George Brown College, one of the few Ontario class actions to proceed through a full common issues trial and receive an aggregate assessment of damages, where the court commended the class counsel team for its legal acumen and the results achieved. A separate Commercial List trial produced a judgment of nearly $4 million USD in compensatory and punitive damages, plus $29.5 million USD in disgorgement of profits.

The animal law practice grew out of years volunteering at the Etobicoke Humane Society, where Aris Gyamfi has served as senior cat manager since 2014.
